When I say "food is my life", these are not just words.  With the exception of being a mother and wife, I live food! I have an insatiable appetite for authentic world cuisines, food made with love and passion, perfecting recipes so that anyone can find confidence in cooking, demonstrating proper technique, designing attractive plates that taste as good as they look, and most of all gathering loved ones around food and drink.  Thank you for allowing me to be your host!

BIO

 

  Chef Laura Lee has a wealth of knowledge and experience in restaurants, catering and culinary instruction that stretches over 2 decades. She started her career as a partner in The Plaza Café Company operating a 150-seat restaurant in Carmel-By-The-Sea.  Over the next 6 years, she would go on to develop a catering business, two additional restaurants and a thriving restaurant consulting business. 

   

  In 1995 Chef Laura turned her attention to teaching and spent the next 5 years with Home Chef Cooking School as an Instructor and Manager of Curriculum Development. 
   

  It was an interest in food and wine pairing that brought Chef Lee to the wine country where she worked first as the Chef de Cuisine at Simi Winery and later provided wine-centric catering for other exclusive wineries in Sonoma and Napa counties


    From 2008-2012, as a Chef Instructor at the Napa Valley Cooking School, her determination to lessen the industry's impact on the environment led to the installation of an organic garden, laying hens, and updated recycling and composting systems.  By overhauling curriculum she was able to bridge classic technique with sustainable practices.

  Currently, Chef Laura, teamed up with husband and partner Chef Eric Lee, is dedicating her time to providing farm fresh meals to vacationers and Bay Area locals at some of the finest estates in Wine Country.  Having built relationships with local artisans and purveyors such as FEED Sonoma, her meals are consisitent with her vision of supporting a sustainable food system.

 

  As a representative of The California Wine Institute she can be seen demonstrating recipes on morning shows throughout the Bay Area.  Chef can also be seen on Grokker with a series of cheese making videos for food enthusiasts.
